On October 19, local time, a magnitude 7.5 earthquake occurred in the waters near Alaska, USA, triggering a tsunami warning and some local schools were evacuated.

At present, no casualties reported.

The quake was felt in many areas on the south coast of Alaska, including Sand Point, Chignik, Unalaska, and the Kenai Peninsula.

According to the US Geological Survey, after the earthquake, there were at least five aftershocks of magnitude 5 or higher in the area.
