The detainees are now being held in a Kurdish detention camp in eastern Syria.

- You can not judge an entire people according to what the leaders have done, says one of the women to SVT Korrespondenterna.

Sanna Klinghoffer and Niclas Berglund also met a woman who described what she had seen during her time in IS.

- I saw dead bodies.

I saw so many young people, they are fifteen years old, sixteen years old who go to war and when they come back they have no legs.

A third woman brought her two children with her during the interview.

She considers herself innocent.

Many people feel great hatred towards those who joined IS, do you understand that?

- It's their opinion, if they want to hate, it's up to them.

I have not killed anyone, I have not shot anyone, I have not committed any crime, she says.
