Opponent Cellou Dalein Diallo, President Alpha Condé's main opponent in Sunday's presidential election, proclaimed himself the winner of the poll on Monday afternoon.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, for its part, recalled that it was the only one empowered to announce the results of this first round.

Calm also seems to have returned to the forest region, in the south of the country, where defense and security forces are deployed after unrest broke out in Nzérékoré, Kissidougou and Macenta.
During this time, the compilation of the results continues.
According to the spokesperson for the Ceni, the reception of the minutes from the centralization commissions across the country began Monday evening.
Once the very last report has been received, the Ceni will have 72 hours to announce the provisional results of this first round.
Still according to the electoral body, the participation rate in this election would be around 75%.
