The Swedish Security Police believe that Huawei is a security risk, it was announced on Tuesday.

- We have been in place in Sweden for over 20 years.

We have contributed to the fantastic digital position that Sweden has today.

We have contributed to building perhaps the best and safest mobile network in the world today, says Kenneth Fredriksen, responsible for the Nordic and Baltic markets at Huawei, in SVT's Aktuellt on Tuesday.

"Disappointed"

Fredriksen says that he is surprised after the news that Huawei can not participate in the expansion of 5G in Sweden.

- It is obviously surprising and I am disappointed that they choose that we must not continue to contribute to the digital success that Sweden can do by implementing the 5G network.

It also emphasizes that Chinese law requires Chinese companies and Chinese citizens to report to the Chinese intelligence service if they discover mysterious items.

What do you say about that?

- We have tried to communicate it - not only with the Swedish authorities - but also other customers and authorities that we are actually a private company and owned by the employees.

"Do not give up"

Kenneth Fredriksen says that the company follows all local laws and regulations, even if the head office is in China.

- We comply with Swedish laws and regulations.

Now stopped from the Swedish 5G network - what does that mean for you?

- First and foremost, it means that we are forced to mobilize our power and focus on our customers so that it has as little negative consequence as possible.

We will use our time for that.

Have you given up hope of 5G?

- We do not give up anything.

But based on what was announced today, there is reason to be concerned.

I have realized that.
