According to the French Insurance Federation, the damage caused by the floods which devastated several valleys in the Alpes-Maritimes in early October will cost around 210 million euros.

They were mainly inflicted on homes, but business and agricultural property were also damaged.

The floods which devastated several valleys in the Alpes-Maritimes in early October resulted in insured damage estimated at around 210 million euros, the French Insurance Federation said on Monday.

"In total, 14,000 claims should be recorded for a cost of insured damage which should reach 210 million euros", mainly for damage to homes and to a lesser extent to professional and agricultural property, said the federation in a press release.
