The society of journalists (SDJ) of the channel Public Senate lamented Tuesday that the presentation of a new program was entrusted to a political figure, Yves Jégo, "ex-secretary of state under Nicolas Sarkozy, former UDI deputy and still municipal councilor "of a commune of Seine-et-Marne.

This monthly program, "Cocorico", intended to promote made in France, will be broadcast from Tuesday at 10 p.m.

The SDJ of Public Senate "wishes to clearly denounce this editorial choice of the channel and unequivocally dissociates itself from it. The announcement of this new program particularly moved the journalists of the editorial staff, both on the form (announcement made by a simple message embedded in the middle of the internal letter) than on the bottom ".

"Even if he no longer has political responsibility at the national level, the name of Yves Jégo remains associated with the right and the center, which risks, of course, giving a political color to the channel, by his mere presence This is not acceptable. However, it must be remembered, Public Senate aims for total independence from all political parties or powers, "the statement continued.

Without calling into question "Yves Jégo's commitment to made in France", the SDJ believes that "the management could very well have entrusted the program to a journalist or a TV host".
