What really happened on Monday evening shortly before 7 p.m. in a residential area in the town of Chaumes-en-Retz in Loire-Atlantique?

According to SDIS 44 (departmental fire and rescue service), a little girl, aged 3, fell into the private swimming pool of a house.

When the firefighters arrived, a witness to the scene had already taken the girl out.

The emergency services immediately contacted the Samu helicopter so that it could be transported urgently to the Nantes University Hospital.

When she was transferred to the hospital, she was in a condition deemed "serious", according to SDIS 44.
