Dubai Municipality stated that during its inspection campaigns the day before yesterday, it closed a cafe and a salon, and violated six different institutions, and it also warned 76 others for not adhering to the precautionary measures and measures for facing the emerging Corona virus.

According to the municipality, the percentage of corporate commitment reached 97% of the total number of institutions that were subjected to inspection, of 2446 establishments.

The municipality stressed the need for all institutions to adhere to the precautionary measures and measures that it imposed, to limit the spread of Corona infection, noting that it carries out about 2,500 inspection visits daily on all institutions that fall under its control tasks, to follow up on their implementation of the precautionary measures.

She indicated that the municipality inspectors check, during their supervisory visits, the daily follow-up records for the health of workers, the recording of sterilization and disinfection operations, in addition to ensuring that food safety requirements are applied to food during reception, preparation and storage, display at healthy temperatures, and the application of hygiene and sterilization procedures, to prevent contamination. She said that the most prominent violations monitored by the inspectors are not adhering to social distancing, wearing personal safety equipment such as masks and gloves during preparation, and not using approved sterilization and disinfection materials, pointing out that the decision to close the violating institution is temporary until the cause of the violation is removed and its conditions coordinated.

The municipality pointed out that it had observed a great commitment by most institutions to the procedures and requirements that it had put in place to confront "Covid-19" during the recent period, compared to the past months, and attributed the reason to the increase in campaigns and inspection visits carried out by municipality inspectors.

She stated that the municipality inspection teams carry out routine inspection visits, visits based on consumer reports, and impose fines in accordance with Local Ordinance No. 11 of 2003 regarding public health and community safety in the Emirate of Dubai, explaining that the fines vary according to the type of violation, and multiply with frequency.

Dubai Municipality called on all community members to contact the municipality's toll-free number 800900, to report any food safety violations, so that the municipality will deal with the institution immediately.

In addition, the field inspection teams of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector in Dubai Economy carried out monitoring visits and tours yesterday, to ensure that commercial establishments adhere to precautionary measures aimed at curbing the spread of the "Covid-19" pandemic.

She indicated that, during the visits, 11 bodybuilding gyms were violated, in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, and the violations came due to non-commitment to wearing masks, and failure to take the necessary measures to take into account the physical distance, while the sites of the violating facilities included Hor Al Anz, Al Qusais, Muhaisnah, Al Marar. .

The field inspection teams of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Sector warned of a single facility, due to the lack of physical distancing posters, and the alerts come with the aim of raising awareness about the necessity of commitment, and its role in ensuring the continuity of their work and the protection of their employees and customers alike, while the number of establishments that meet the conditions and precautionary measures has reached 921 facilities.
