October 18, 2020 "I will run for mayor of Rome: a duty and a great adventure".

So Carlo Calenda, guest of "Che tempo che fa" on Rai 3. "I can't speak for the Democratic Party, I participate in a table. I hope for a broad support and I will try in all possible ways to put together a very large team".

On the possibility of facing the primaries, as requested by the Democrats, he replied: "Making the primaries today would be complicated, doing them later would mean talking to each other for months. Right or left? I'm a liberal Social Democrat."

And he adds: "The Democratic Party should support me if they think that I am the right person to govern Rome. We both think that the management of the Five Stars has been disastrous. The evils of Rome come from afar, but with M5s and Raggi everything has worsened" he adds .

"I also did the scrutiny in the primaries of the Democratic Party, but I think we must try to broaden the field as much as possible. And then there is a small detail, there is a health emergency. How do we think people leave the house "And then Sassoli and Gentiloni came out defeated from the primaries, now the Democratic Party would like candidates. Making the primaries today is very complicated, doing them in months would mean talking about us for months", added Calenda.

The elections are scheduled for spring 2021, in a round that involves, among other things, Milan, Naples, Turin and Bologna.
