Rumors are over.

In a context of the rapid spread of Covid-19, the list of towns and villages affected by the health curfew in Haute-Garonne was finally communicated by the prefecture, this Saturday at midday.

43 municipalities in the Toulouse metropolitan area are targeted by these new measures which, as the prefectural press release indicates, “enter into force from today Saturday, October 17 and are applicable for four weeks [until November 13 inclusive].

"

69 other municipalities in the agglomeration, corresponding to the former reinforced alert zone, plus some neighboring municipalities, are targeted by specific measures, lighter than the curfew.

These are the whole of Sicoval, Muretain Agglo, the communities of communes of La Save au Touch and Coteaux-Bellevue as well as Fontenilles.

The rest of the department remains subject to the measures relating to the state of health emergency decreed at the national level.

Alert thresholds largely exceeded

The prefecture indicates that the various indicators in the metropolis of Toulouse exceed the maximum alert thresholds.

This is the case with the incidence rate in the general population (289.5 per 100,000 people against a threshold of 250), that among those over 65 (180.9 against a threshold of 100) and, this time for the whole of Occitania, the occupancy rate of intensive care beds by Covid patients (36.7% compared to 30%).
