FC Barcelona lost in Getafe (1-0), their first defeat of the season, and missed the opportunity to return to Real Madrid, leaders of the Spanish league who also fell, at home against Cadiz, on Saturday for the 6th day.
The big winner of the weekend is Atlético Madrid, winner at Celta Vigo 2-0 and now two points behind Real with one game less.
French Barça striker Antoine Griezmann was disappointing again, notably missing a golden face-to-face at the half-hour mark, which could have changed the course of the match.
Lionel Messi also missed a huge opportunity in added time, hitting side after a surrender from Gerard Pique.
Obtained thanks to the penalty of Jaime Mata (his second goal this season), the victory is deserved for Getafe (2nd), which reunites with Real Madrid at the top of La Liga with ten points, like Cadiz and Granada.
The addition could have been saltier for Barça of Ronald Koeman, with several missed opportunities by Getafe.
