Two calves were found dead and mutilated in Saône-et-Loire, one of which had his tongue cut out and his eyes gouged out, we learned from the gendarmerie on Friday.

A first calf was found dead Thursday, tongue and tail cut, in Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray (Saône-et-Loire).

The same day, another calf was discovered dead in Saint-Eugène, the tongue cut out and the eyes removed, the same source said.

Very many animals, most often equines, have undergone similar mutilations in France in recent months, often fatal.
