The Minister of Education, Hussain Al Hammadi, said: “We are continuing to harness the potentials and prepare the means and close cooperation between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, to benefit from science and technology supported by research, to find solutions to common challenges, to encourage youth to innovate and entrepreneurship, and to develop infrastructure and legal and regulatory legislation. And the use of technology to develop government services, and it is important to follow up their implementation and include it in all strategic plans and aspects of the educational process.

This came during his chairing the 20th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Gulf Cooperation Council, which was hosted by the UAE and held virtually.

Al-Hammadi said: “Today we are in dire need of strengthening coordination and joint work, and exchanging experiences in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and its direct effects on education systems, and to overcome the repercussions of this emergency health reality, we have to document the best supportive frameworks, and start from the point at which we ended, And specifically from the final statement, and the Riyadh declaration of the fortieth session of the Supreme Council in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council ».

He added that «a new chapter of the chapters of cooperation and joint work that we continue together, and reflects an educational scene that we seek to achieve, which consists in promoting scientific research, relying on technology, employing technology and artificial intelligence, and devoting innovation in higher education institutions, which has become an inevitable necessity, which is capable of achieving competitiveness represented by In qualitative outputs that lead the future of our country, and leave its imprint and uniqueness in the labor market and the development and prosperity of our national institutions.

He added that «the UAE has made great strides in the field of advancing the higher education sector, and its future vision is based on the National Strategy for Higher Education 2030». The strategy stresses the importance of providing students with technical and practical skills, to advance the economy in the public and private sectors, and to graduate generations of specialists and professionals in the sectors Vitality, to be a main pillar in building a knowledge-based economy, and to actively participate in research, entrepreneurship and the labor market tracks.

He said: “We aspire, through the periodic committee meetings, to reach a cooperative and future development formula that puts us on the right path, through which we can choose the best educational models and apply them, and inspire effective and flexible mechanisms to contribute to crystallizing a common educational vision for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries capable of achieving the educational goals that We all aspire to achieve it, and we are fully confident in our ability to achieve our aspirations, and what we have set from previous goals.

He emphasized that strengthening the integrative experience among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council by assigning universities and research centers to allocate academic programs is a very important topic, and the UAE suggests that postgraduate students be encouraged to pursue research in this topic by offering a competition for the best dissertation in this field.
