At the microphone of Europe 1, the president of the national union of commissioners, David Le Bars, believes that a "milestone has been crossed" this Friday, a few hours after a professor was beheaded around 17h after showing there is a few days the cartoons of Mahomet published in

"It is an act of appalling barbarism which was committed on the public highway near a school," he recalls.

An act delivered on social networks

"But we must not also forget the seriousness of posting this act, claiming it, and throwing the photo of the victim to public opinion on social networks", points out the commissioner.

A photo of the decapitated professor of 47 years has indeed circulated briefly on social networks, before being made unavailable.

"I fear both the atrocity of the act, the fact of having delivered it on social networks, but also the impact that it can have."

Especially since in the midst of the trial of the 2015 attacks and only three weeks after the chopper attack in Paris, this new drama takes place in a particular context.

"We knew that the threat was very great, that the

trial

was a bad sounding board," explains David Le Bars.

"This time, we had an attack of an unnamed severity. We are on a very serious streak."

As to whether he fears other attacks of the same type, David Le Bars "is careful not to make predictions".

But advance "that one must not be blind".

According to him, "evil is endogenous" and "we must not hide our face".
