His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, announced yesterday that he had received the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine.

His Highness published a tweet on his Twitter account, in which he said that "vaccination against Corona is our way to return to normal life."

His Highness attached the tweet with his photo the moment he received the vaccine, and the hashtag #Vaccination, to join a list of sheikhs, ministers and officials who took the initiative to receive the vaccine, confirming its safety and the possibility of using it to curb the pandemic.

The clinical trials began in mid-July, with a partnership between the Chinese group, Biotec, a subsidiary of Sinopharm, and the G42 company, which specializes in artificial intelligence and cloud computing, based in Abu Dhabi.

The trials conducted in the UAE, in which more than 31,000 volunteers from 125 nationalities, have shown that the vaccine is safe and effective, and resulted in a strong response to fight the virus.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, received last September the first dose of the "Covid-19" vaccine, in support of the national program for the use of the vaccine in the country, and to encourage cadres of vital sectors.

The Minister of Health and Community Protection, Abdul Rahman Al Owais, after receiving the first dose of the vaccine, confirmed that clinical trials conducted by the health sector in the country showed positive results, and proved that it is safe and effective.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Hamed, head of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, was one of the first to volunteer in the clinical trials of the third phase of a possible vaccine for the "Covid-19" virus.

The Acting Undersecretary of the Health Department, Dr. Jamal Al-Kaabi, registered his name in the list of volunteers immediately after the minister.

The vaccine was also received by: Director General of the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management, Obaid Rashid Al Hussan Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Director of Dubai Medical District, Nasser Khalifa Al Badour, Assistant Undersecretary for the Hospital Sector, Director General of the Emirates Foundation for Health Services, Yusef Mohammed Al Serkal, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry Assistant for the Support Services Sector, Awad Al Ketbi, and Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Centers and Clinics Sector, Hussain Al Rand.
