A Chinese city proposed to its residents an "emergency vaccination" against "Covid-19", according to what local authorities announced, and it is the first known process of this size in the country, during which a vaccine is given that has not been approved for commercial circulation.

The day before yesterday, the Infectious Disease Control Center in Jiaxing (eastern China) said that people between the ages of 18 and 59 years can get a consultation for the vaccine from the private "Sinovac" company.

This "emergency vaccination" is recommended as a priority for the populations most exposed to the virus, such as medical workers, people in contact with the public, customs officials, and even travelers who have to go to countries considered high risk.

The vaccine consists of two doses, which are administered in two stages, separated by a period of 14 to 28 days, at a cost of 400 yuan (51 euros).

Authorities did not say whether the vaccination began in the coastal city of Jiaxing in Zhejiang Province, which has a population of 4.7 million.
