Seo Hoon, head of the Blue House National Security Office, said, "It is common sense that the declaration of the end of the war cannot be played separately in the process of denuclearization of North Korea."

National Security Officer Seo Hoon, who is visiting the United States, interviewed Secretary of State Pompeo at the Washington State Department building and met with correspondents and said, "The issue of the end of the war has always been on the negotiating table, and the ROK-US has different thoughts about I can't be there."

"The question is just a matter of how the previous declaration will be in the process of denuclearization or the degree of association with denuclearization," said Seo Hoon. "It is better not to interpret too different or excessively."

Mr. Seo Hoon's comments are interpreted to mean that the declaration of an end to the war is not being promoted irrespective of North Korea's denuclearization, but is a matter to be dealt with in close relationship, and there is no disagreement between the ROK and the United States.

"We haven't talked in particular about the end of the war," said Seo Hoon, however, in an interview with Secretary Pompeo.

Regarding the deadlocked ROK-US defense cost share negotiations, Seo Hoon also said, "We did not have an in-depth conversation. It is desirable that a settlement be reached in a reasonable and mutually acceptable manner as soon as possible."
