Previous estimates contained smaller numbers of population decline, and it was also assumed that over time, the indicator will move to growth.
According to the new forecast, against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, the number of Russians in 2020 will decrease by 352 thousand, which will be the highest figure since 2006.
It is noted that the start of population growth is expected no earlier than 2030.
