It is by definition at night that the police must ensure that the curfew is respected.

To ensure this mission, 12,000 police officers will be mobilized.

Grégory Joron, of the SGP-Police Unit union, fears that the workforce will once again see their work schedules shifted: “

You have noticed that since 2015, I believe, the police officers are on almost all fronts unfortunately, they are rather tired.

What is worrying is that we will especially shift a lot of daytime officials to be able to allow them to arrive during the curfew control hours.

We are already starting to have some complaints in certain regions where colleagues are shifted without giving them too much notice or where they are forced to come and work until 9:00 p.m. or more in order to be able to respond to this request.

"

Another concern: if in city centers this

curfew

could reduce delinquency, Fabien Vanhemelryck, of the Alliance union, fears that in some suburbs the rules are not applied, forcing the police to put themselves in danger. to enforce them.

“

In so-called sensitive neighborhoods, where the police are not always welcome, it will be very difficult to enforce a curfew.

So obviously the police officer will be confronted with the danger of the profession.

We will still see images where some neighborhoods will be on fire simply because we wanted to enforce the curfew.

 "

Finally, all over the country, the police are also preparing to have to watch out for any clandestine parties.
