"
A warm encounter
", that's how King Philippe and his half-sister, Princess Delphine, called their first meeting.
It was at Laeken Castle, one of the properties of the royal family.
A meeting that comes after years of legal proceedings, the epilogue of which took place a fortnight ago.
The Brussels Court of Appeal then
recognized Delphine
as a member of the royal family.
She now has the right to bear the surname of Saxe-Coburg and enjoys the title of princess.
"
It is the King of the Belgians who initiated this meeting
", specifies the royal palace.
A three-hour meeting "
to get to know each other
" explained Philippe and Delphine in a joint press release accompanied by a photo.
King Philippe's
attitude
contrasts with that of his father.
Albert II, who did everything to deny this paternity, but who had to recognize the evidence of the DNA analysis imposed by justice, has no contact with Delphine, his legitimate daughter, born of an extra-marital relationship in 1968.
