This is how all families who have had their first child or their first child in Sweden have received such a visit, says Ylva Tindberg, chief pediatrician.
Flen has developed the work even further and in addition to the first visit offers another visit when the baby is eight months old.
Unfair to the rest of the municipalities
That this model does not exist in all municipalities and all areas depends on organization.
In order to make a joint home visit, there must be access to a family counselor.
Such people are employed at family centers, therefore child care centers that are not affiliated with a family center cannot offer such visits.
- The distribution by area in Sörmland is right because it has ended up in the right county that has extra need for support and extra efforts.
But then it is not fair for the children in Flen, Vingåker and Katrineholm for the child care centers that are not located in a family center do not have access to this way of working yet.
It is the next development area how we reach all children in vulnerable areas, says Ylva Tindberg.
