"The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) expresses serious concern regarding the safety of aircraft performing international flights, their crews and passengers, as well as civilian ground facilities in connection with the armed conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh with the use of missiles and other types of weapons," committee statement.

As soon as possible, the IAC proposed to take measures to "prevent the defeat of civil aircraft by air defense systems."

This also applies to civilian facilities and airfields.

It also called on airlines that fly through the South Caucasus region to assess risk factors to ensure the safety of flights over or near conflict zones.

In addition, the IAC suggested the ATC authorities and providers of air navigation services for civil aviation "to ensure coordination and interaction with the military authorities for the release of the relevant NOTAMs and AIPs to ensure safety in the areas of international flights."

Earlier it was reported that the parties to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh agreed to declare a ceasefire for humanitarian purposes from 12:00 on October 10.

As Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, the agreements are not being fully observed.
