France imposes a night curfew from Saturday to stop the Corona outbreak

French President Emmanuel Macron announced a series of new restrictions to stop the outbreak of the new Corona virus (Covid 19) in France, including the imposition of a curfew starting from nine in the evening local time until six in the morning, stressing that his country is currently living in a second wave of (Covid 19).

President Macron - who was speaking at a mini-press conference broadcast by French TV channels - said that the curfew will be implemented on Saturday, October 17th, and includes the cities of Paris and both the Ile-de-France region, Marseille, Lyon, Lille, Grenoble, Saint-Etienne, Montpellier, Toulouse and The city of Rouen.

He stressed that his country has not lost control of the Corona virus, ruling out at the same time the need to return to a new comprehensive quarantine.

After entering the curfew, starting on Saturday night, all those who disagree with the decision will be subject to a fine of up to 135 euros (about 584 Emirati dirhams).

The French President set a period of time ranging between 4 and 6 weeks to implement the night curfew, which will not be lifted before the health situation returns to stability and the outbreak of the pandemic subsides.

In recent weeks, France has witnessed unprecedented increases in the number of recorded infections with the Coronavirus, after this indicator decreased significantly early last summer before it rose again.

French cities, including Paris, Marseille and Toulouse, have tightened preventive measures such as closing cafes, reducing restaurant working hours, imposing restrictions on their work, in addition to closing swimming pools and gyms, and greatly reducing the number of participants in sports and cultural activities.
