A brigade of the 74th Group Army uses the experience of officers and soldiers on overseas missions as living teaching materials

  peacekeeping stories inspire pride

News from our newspaper Zhuang Xiaohao and Liu Xiongma reported: “Exhibiting the image of a big country outside, returning to the country to fulfill the mission.” On the eve of National Day, a certain brigade of the 74th Army had just returned from the front line of peacekeeping and embarked on a training journey without stopping.

During the combat mobilization between maneuvers, Chen Jiawei, the instructor of a company, told the officers and soldiers about his peacekeeping experience, inspiring everyone to carry forward the "Blue Helmet" spirit and make new contributions on the battlefield.

At the beginning of last year, the brigade dispatched engineering units and medical personnel to Lebanon to perform peacekeeping missions and undertake infrastructure construction and humanitarian relief work.

Over the past year or so, the officers and soldiers of the brigade’s peacekeeping detachment have successfully completed more than 80 tasks including local school aid construction, "blue line" observation post construction, and patrol road construction, which have been highly praised by UNIFIL and local people.

In order to transform the military's peacekeeping experience into a strong force, after the peacekeeping detachment returned to the country, the brigade followed up and sorted out relevant materials, and carried out the special education and practice activities of "learning from peacekeeping officers and soldiers and continuing to write a strong army."

During the activities, the brigade adopted methods such as printing and distributing peacekeeping story collections, producing peacekeeping documentaries, and holding peacekeeping story meetings to guide officers and soldiers to draw momentum from the peacekeeping stories, and to inspire pride in the military.

A period of peacekeeping experience is a vivid education lesson.

On the training ground of a certain battalion, officers and soldiers used the training gap to sit around peacekeeping officers and soldiers to listen to moving stories, and from time to time there was warm applause.

College student soldier Bi Yanlu said with sentiment: "As a soldier, guarding the hard-won peace is part of my mission. I must train hard to fight for peacekeeping missions, win glory for the motherland and add luster to the army!"
