RIA Novosti informs about it with reference to court documents.

"The defendant's petition (for release) should be granted on the basis that she served even longer than the court allowed ..." - stated in the petition, signed by Kansas District Attorney Stephen McAllister.

The document says that the Bureau of Prisons must release Osipova from prison and "order her to appear again for a second sentence in court."

On June 7, the court sentenced Osipova to seven years in prison.

It was reported that she would be serving time in a Connecticut prison.

In 2014, Osipova took her children out of the United States, and also filed for divorce from her American husband.

However, the husband convinced the American court to deprive the woman of parental rights.

In 2017, the Russian woman returned to the United States to challenge the decision, but she was arrested.
