After the previous care allowance and overhead allowance for disabled children was reformed in 2019, the children's guardians have been forced to apply for the new care allowance.

But of the more than 14,000 children in the country who are affected, more than half have received reduced or completely withdrawn compensation from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.

Many completely without subsidies

In Värmland, 342 children are affected by the reform.

31 percent of them have had their contribution level reduced, while 21 percent have lost their contribution completely.

Five-year-old Saga from Torsby is one of the children who has lost the entire grant.

In the video above, Saga's father talks about how the withdrawn contribution has affected the family.
