Defuse the largest bomb from the remnants of World War II in Poland

One of the largest bombs left by World War II and found at the bottom of a shipping canal was precisely and unprecedentedly defused Monday in northwestern Poland, leading to the evacuation of hundreds of residents.

This bomb was dropped by a British plane in April 1945 during a raid on a German cruiser, a "Tall Boy" that weighed more than five tons and was capable of causing a small earthquake. It was found last year in Svenwichten on the shore of the Baltic Sea.

And the Polish Navy announced on "Facebook" that the operation could continue until Friday, depending on the weather.

In the morning, 750 residents of the security zone were asked to leave their homes.

During the operation, land and sea traffic will stop in this coastal city of 40,000 on the German border, according to the city council.
