“The Belarusian authorities should immediately release all journalists detained while covering national protests, as well as stop threatening and targeting media workers and allow them to work freely and safely,” the organization’s website said.

As the committee points out, citing data from the Belarusian Association of Journalists, at least 49 press workers were detained while working at protests in Belarus on October 11 and 12.

It is clarified that eight journalists have not yet been released.

On October 9, CPJ urged the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to ensure the safety of media workers in the combat zone.
