A few weeks ago, Säfstaholm Castle was inaugurated after the major renovation that has been going on for several years.
Now the municipality has produced a detailed plan for the entire area around the castle.
- This is the biggest thing that has happened in Vingåker in many years when it comes to planning and development issues, says Robert Davidsson (C), chairman of the public works committee.
120 new homes
In the detailed plan, the municipality has looked at its famous English castle park, which will be filled with culture, outdoor life and become an inviting public place for all Vingåker residents.
The municipality has also looked at both sides of the castle park and in the detailed plan it is emphasized, among other things, that the Vingåkersån river will be made accessible and that approximately 120 new homes can be built.
- Vingåker has a positive population development and our biggest dilemma is that we have such a bad housing and buildable land in attractive locations.
So this means a lot both for central Vingåker and the whole municipality, he says.
The municipality hopes to start construction in a year
Next week, the detailed plan will be discussed in the public works committee.
After that, the detailed plan goes out for consultation and all citizens can have their say on the various proposals in November.
- We hope that the plan itself will be completed sometime in the spring and that at best construction will start in the autumn or winter next year, says Davidsson.
