The Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge, which straddles the Zhenjiang section of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, is located between the Runyang Yangtze River Bridge and the Taizhou Yangtze River Bridge. It is China's first road-rail suspension bridge and the world's first high-speed railway suspension bridge.

The bridge is a key control project for the Lianzhen Railway and the southern extension of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, and it is also the most difficult project for the entire line.

The total length of the bridge is 6409 meters, of which the main span is 1092 meters, and it adopts a single-span suspension steel truss girder suspension cable structure.

The upper layer is a two-way eight-lane highway with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour; the lower layer is a four-line high-speed railway (two lines are reserved) with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour.

The bridge was constructed by China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd., with the participation of CCCC Second Navigation Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as "CCCC Second Navigation Bureau").

"Anchorage is one of the most important stress-bearing structures of the bridge. The north anchorage caisson constructed by the Second Navigation Bureau is 100.7 meters long, 72.1 meters wide, and 56 meters high. It has an area equivalent to a football field and is the largest built in the world. Land caisson.” Wang Chenglong said, for example, the total weight of the north anchorage will reach 1.33 million tons, which is equivalent to the weight of 186 Eiffel Towers in Paris, France.

The size and weight make it a veritable "world's first well".

Since entering the joint test phase on September 1 this year, the Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge has been tested for more than one month, and the overall effect has been stable.

This means one step closer to the opening of the Lianzhen Railway.
