China News Service, Phnom Penh, October 11 (Reporter Ouyang Kaiyu) Days of heavy rain hit most provinces in Cambodia. According to the latest data released by the Cambodian government on the 11th, a new round of heavy rainfall has caused at least 14,000 people to be affected.

In this regard, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen requested that all levels of departments, local governments and related agencies go all out to carry out rescue.

  Affected by the tropical storm, from the 1st to the 10th of this month, many parts of Cambodia ushered in heavy rainfall, causing floods.

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia predicts that in the next few days, rainfall in the northern and northwestern regions will increase, which may aggravate floods.

  According to the statistics of the National Disaster Relief Committee of Cambodia, the floods hit 10 provinces and cities across the country, including Bodhisattva, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Prayering, Kampong Ching Yang, Svay Reng, Siju, Takeo, Kan La province and Phnom Penh.

  The National Disaster Relief Committee of Cambodia stated that the floods have caused at least 14,000 people to be affected and 2 people died.

Over 10,000 hectares of rice fields and 30,000 hectares of crops were affected.

At least 500 houses were flooded or destroyed, and infrastructure in many places was damaged.

  In the face of the disaster, Hun Sen asked all departments at all levels, local governments, and relevant agencies to work together and go all out to rescue.

Hun Sen pointed out that we must be more vigilant, deploy and take emergency measures, use all resources, including mobilizing armed forces, quickly invest in disaster relief, go to the disaster area as soon as possible, rescue the people affected, and reduce the loss of life and property caused by the flood.

  It is also reported that the Basa Reservoir dam in Battambang Province has partially collapsed due to the rising water level. The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia and the National Disaster Relief Committee have formed a working group to repair the dam in due course.
