Tunisian Parliament Speaker Rached Ghannouchi won the case he filed against the London-based Al-Arab newspaper after publishing false allegations against him, after winning the same case against Middle East Eye, who published the same allegations.

The newspaper pledged on its website not to repeat the allegations related to Mr. Ghannouchi published in an article entitled "The Renaissance in the Land of Grapes and Olives" which was published in the newspaper on July 5, 2019, which are the same allegations that were published on the same day on the Middle East Online website.

The newspaper also pledged to pay compensation and expenses to Ghannouchi, who heads the Ennahda movement in Tunisia.

In the details of the case, the article claimed that “Ghannouchi claims his belief in democracy, while he leads a party that represents a front for a terrorist organization, tolerates terrorism, encourages and actively supports it in Tunisia and abroad, and that he allowed his party to receive money from the State of Qatar, which made it easier for Qatar to exert a negative influence. On Tunisian politics. "

And the London High Court confirmed in its decision that these allegations are nothing but lies, after the sites of the London-based Arab newspaper and Middle East Eye failed to prove the validity of these allegations.

It is noteworthy that Ghannouchi won last May the case he also filed against Middle East Eye, who published the same allegations.

Analyst and academic Ahmed bin Rashid bin Saeed wrote tweets on Twitter saying:

Sheikh Rashid # Al-Ghannouchi won the lawsuit he filed against "Middle East Online" in Britain (funded by #UAE).

Ghannouchi's Supreme Court was fair after the website failed to prove the allegations it had published, which was that the sheikh tolerated terrorism and received money from states.

The court will determine on 6/10 the financial compensation for the lies.
