England's Tyrrell Hatton, 15th player in the world, made a childhood dream come true when he won the PGA Championship on the European Tour on Sunday at the Wentworth course.

Hatton finished with a card of 67 and a total score of 269, 19 strokes under par, and four strokes ahead of Frenchman Victor Pérez.

This 5th victory on the European circuit for Hatton, a member of the European Ryder Cup team, will allow him to enter the World Top 10 for the first time in his career on Monday, two days before his 29th birthday.

"It's amazing," Hatton said on Sky Sports.

"It was one of the goals of my career, to win here, so I'm a little sad that I couldn't have done it in public, but it's still great."

Hatton won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March in the United States, before the lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Starting with three strokes in advance, he found himself tied with Pérez after four holes, the Frenchman having started this fourth and final round with a birdie in 2 and an eagle in 4. Hatton recovered well, Pérez lost a drive on the 17th and the Englishman won the bet, or 957,000 euros for four days of work.

Winner of the Masters 2018, the American Patrick Reed ended his day with an eagle at 18, like Saturday, synonymous with 3rd place at -14, tied with the Englishman Andy Sullivan, 65 Sunday, best score of the day.
