Korean leader in Daewoo E&C was found dead at the construction site of a new port in Iraq.

On the 9th local time, Daewoo E&C site manager A, who is participating in the port construction project, was found dead by other employees.



It was found inside a facility used by field workers, and Iraqi authorities assumed that A had made an extreme choice as a result of an initial investigation.



However, lawmakers, including the vice chairman of the Iraqi parliament, raised suspicion of murder.



He said Mr. A died shortly after the authorities announced that the signing of a contract for the next stage of the new port project was imminent.



It is said that Mr. A's will has not been found.



In response to subsequent political suspicions, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior set up a committee to investigate Mr. A's death.



The Korean Embassy in Iraq has also dispatched a consular officer in charge of the case to the scene and requested cooperation from Iraqi investigation authorities.
