Legal action is expected to begin to protect Berlin's'Peace Girl's statue, which was ordered to be demolished by German authorities.

The Korea Council, a local Korean-related civic group that supervised the establishment of the girl statue, is planning to apply for a temporary injunction to suspend the execution of the demolition order to the Berlin Administrative Court.

The girl statue, which was installed in a public place at the end of last month with permission from the prefectural Mite-gu, was ordered to be demolished on the 7th due to a problem raised by the Japanese government.

It happened nine days after the unveiling ceremony, and the Mite-gu Office at that time informed them that if they do not voluntarily demolish them by the 14th, they will be forced into execution.

In Germany, a petition campaign against demolition was also started, and more than 1,000 signatures were secured.
