The
Canary Islands
have received about
710 migrants
aboard a total of
22 boats and cayucos
since the early hours of last Friday, the last being an irregular boat that arrived at the Arguineguin Pier (Gran Canaria) on Saturday night with 18 people .
According to a count with data provided by the Red Cross and the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112, in the early morning and early hours of this Friday,
384 migrants arrived at different points on the islands
in 14 boats.
During the afternoon, Salvamento Marítimo intercepted three other boats with a total of
50 migrants
-15 in the first, another 15 in the second and 20 in the third- when they were heading to Gran Canaria.
In this sense, a boat from the state agency transferred all of them to the
Arguineguín
Pier
, being treated at the port, all in apparent good health.
Later, Salvamento also rescued a cayuco with
112 migrants of Maghreb origin
, including 35 minors, and took them to the
Los Cristianos Pier
, in Tenerife, all in good condition.
Around 8:00 p.m., another cayuco with more than
100 people was rescued in the area of Punta Rasca
(Tenerife) and also transferred to Los Cristianos.
Meanwhile, at approximately the same time, although this time on the island of
Lanzarote
, about
40 migrants
arrived
who were intercepted in a small boat to the north of the island.
At the same time, an irregular boat arrived by its own means at Las Salinas Beach, on the
island of Fuerteventura
, with 6 people inside.
Finally, at dawn this Saturday, the aforementioned boats with 18 migrants arrived at the
Arguineguín Pier
, all in apparent good health.
