2022 is already tomorrow.

And according to them, we must mobilize today.

A thousand political leaders and activists, intellectuals and trade unionists are calling for "a common candidacy" on the left for an "ecological, social and democratic alternative" in view of the next presidential election.

This "Appeal of 1,000", launched this Saturday, takes the form of an online petition.

Among the signatories, we find LFI MP Clémentine Autain, EELV MEP Damien Carême, one of the spokespersons of the same party Alain Coulombel, environmental journalist Cyril Dion, or economist Thomas Piketty.

But also activists and members of Europe Ecology - The Greens, of the Socialist Party, of Generations or of the PCF, who do not however represent, by their position or their number, the majority of their respective apparatuses.

All regret “a lack of common work” in the different structures, even if they observe “signs of openness”.

A major event announced at the start of 2021

Resolutely opposed to neoliberalism, capitalism, productivism, patriarchy, presidentialism, all racism and all discrimination and exclusion ”, they believe that the decade is“ critical ”with regard to the“ double climate emergency ” and social ”.

The presidential election of 2022 is a "vital deadline for our future with a double risk: that of the continuation and amplification of current or past policies, that of the coming to power of the far right"?

The “1,000” add: “It is not a question here of union for union, of unity without principles around an orientation erasing diversity”, but “of linking our struggles and coordinating our strategies” for lead to "a common candidacy".

The tribune announces "a big meeting at the beginning of 2021" to promote the initiative.
