This year's Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the United Nations World Food Programme.



The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced today (9th) that the UN's World Food Program has been selected as the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize recipient.



The Nobel Committee said, "The World Food Program is the largest human rights organization responsible for hunger and food security."



There are 25 organizations that have received the Nobel Peace Prize, including the World Food Programme.



As for the number of awards, the International Committee of the Red Cross received three awards, two UNHCR awards, and the UN and the European Union also received peace awards.
