  • The Prime Minister took out the heavy artillery on his way to the Pink City with three ministers to detail the objective of the integrated security contract.

  • Nearly 111 national police officers will reinforce the Toulouse workforce by the end of 2021.

  • The municipal police, of which a hundred agents will be recruited, will see their skills and prerogatives extended.

They had come to talk about security.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, National Education and the Keeper of the Seals, did not visit Toulouse on Friday by chance, a city marked by the terrorist attacks in 2012 and theater for several years of numerous deadly settling of scores.

In the Pink City, the delinquency figures for attacks on property and persons are twice those of the average for French cities.

LR mayor, Jean-Luc Moudenc, who has been calling for at least 150 national police for several years, can be satisfied after the efforts of Jean Castex, announcing the recruitment of 111 additional police officers by 2021.

More municipal police and cameras

The integrated security contract signed between the Toulouse city hall and the State will thus make it possible to strengthen the national police force but also those of the municipal police whose skills will be strengthened.

"The government will support the bill allowing the extension of the prerogatives of the municipal police such as finding new offenses," said Jean Castex during a speech on Friday at the Capitol.

These decisions are awaited by many mayors.

There is no question for the State to give up its primary responsibilities in sovereign matters.

Since the start of the five-year term, nearly 10,000 additional police and gendarmes have been - and will be - recruited.

By signing this first #integrated security contract between the State and the Town Hall of #Toulouse, I express the wish that this October 9th marks a turning point in favor of the protection of Toulousans and Toulousans, for their quality of life, in all neighborhoods pic.twitter.com/ytO2ELnzh8

The Prime Minister also announced the creation of 100 more municipal police posts by 2025 and the installation of 100 additional cameras by 2022.

Reinforcements to the Izards

Regarding the districts of republican reconquest, created in 2018 in targeted areas where the police forces are reinforced, Jean Castex indicated on Friday that the Izards district would enter into this specific device, in which only the Mirail appeared for the moment.

To fight more effectively against drug trafficking and delinquency, fifteen additional police officers will be on the ground.

In Toulouse, the Izards district will benefit from the # ReconquêteRépublicaine system.

Concretely, this means 30 additional police officers dedicated to this district by 2022.

Fear must change sides and republican peace prevail everywhere.

Stressing the importance of collaboration between the police and the judiciary, the Prime Minister recalled the exceptional increase of 8% of the justice budget in 2021, or 3 billion euros.

Nearly 2,500 recruitments will take place in the country by 2021. "The priority is local justice, which is why we are going to double the prosecutor's delegates in Toulouse to be faster," he assured.

We are taking the evil at the root.

This integrated security contract is the armed wing of the Republic, everywhere on the territory.
