"In Moscow, 30 patients died in a day, who were diagnosed with pneumonia and received a positive test result for coronavirus infection," the report said.
A day earlier, 33 deaths were reported.
The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said that the number of seriously ill patients in the city is increasing, and mortality from COVID-19 is growing.
