Normally, hotels in Goris, Armenia, welcome tourists who come to admire the majestic mountain scenery.

But recently, these establishments have been occupied by families who fled Nagorno-Karabakh.

"When the bombardment started, we got dressed and took refuge in a basement, explains Anush, accountant for Askeran, Nagorno Karabakh. But we quickly saw that the situation was out of control and we decided to flee to Armenia. "

"We are very grateful to our Armenian people who welcomed us and made it possible to eat this hot soup, continues another displaced person, a telecoms employee from Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh. We left barefoot, and here they are dressing us. and feed us. "

The hotels welcome displaced people free of charge.

And this solidarity extends throughout Armenian territory.

In the capital, Yerevan, a football club welcomes for its part 60 children and adolescents who have fled the war zone.

In a music workshop, other volunteers get involved.

"We have already organized many workshops in town last week, explains Anna Mikaelian, of the Nexus Center for the Arts. We are musicians, so the first thing we wanted to do when the war broke out was to mobilize ourselves. , and as one of my friends says, everyone has to fight with their own weapon. "
