US President Donald Trump, who is still being treated for his infection with "Covid-19", confirmed yesterday that he refuses to participate in an online presidential debate scheduled for next week with his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden.

Trump told "Fox Business News" that he would not "participate" in a debate like this, explaining, "I will not do a virtual debate," considering that "it is not acceptable to us."

The two-party organizing committee announced earlier that the second presidential debate between Trump and his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, would take place online.

Trump accused the committee of trying to "protect" Biden.

The US President said that he had stopped taking most of the drugs that he began using after being infected with the emerging coronavirus, but indicated that he was still taking a stimulant.

"It is not a strong stimulant," he said, adding that it was "almost" "close" to dispensing drugs.

The committee had made it clear that it had made this change "to protect the health and safety of all those concerned."

She added that the two candidates will be in two different places while the journalist managing the debate and the limited audience chosen to ask questions will be in Miami, Florida, in the southeast of the country.

On the other hand, the US President described Democratic Party Vice President Kamala Harris as a "monster" during his speech to "Fox Business."

He made clear that he believed Biden would not last long in the presidency if he was elected, describing Harris twice as "this monster."

For its part, Biden's campaign indicated that he would not drop out of the upcoming presidential debate, despite Trump's announcement that he would not participate.

"Biden looks forward to speaking directly to the American people," Kate Bidingfield, Biden's campaign communications director, stressed in a statement.

She criticized "Trump's failed leadership" of the Corona pandemic crisis.
