Reem Al-Hashemi discusses with two Israeli ministers opportunities for cooperation

Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of the Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau, met today, Wednesday, with two Israeli ministers, in the wake of the historic peace treaty signed between the UAE and the State of Israel, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, and Al-Hashemi discussed with the Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation. Ofir Acuña, the great and promising opportunities for cooperation that await the two countries after the peace treaty, and they also discussed ways to strengthen multilateral relations in the region.

The two ministers also discussed means of cooperation in combating the (Covid-19) epidemic, which has claimed many lives around the world. On the other hand, Al-Hashemi met with the Israeli Minister of Intelligence, Eli Cohen, where the two ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation and relations between the UAE and the State of Israel in various fields when It is in the interest of both countries.

They also discussed the participation of the State of Israel in Expo 2020 Dubai, which will be hosted by the UAE next year, as the Israeli minister confirmed that the construction work for his country's pavilion at the exhibition is continuing in full swing, and Al-Hashemi affirmed the UAE’s commitment to the two-state solution and the importance of ensuring that the Palestinians have the opportunity to benefit from the treaty.


It should be noted that the peace treaty announced on August 13th aims to promote growth and development by supporting opportunities in the knowledge-based economy, developing advanced technologies and innovation in key sectors, and enhancing security and stability for the benefit of the peoples of the region.


Since the signing of the treaty, both the UAE and the State of Israel have taken steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation in many vital areas, most notably foreign affairs, food security, medical and health research, especially with regard to efforts made to combat the (Covid-19) epidemic.
