"The President of the Russian Federation makes an appeal to stop the hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, for humanitarian reasons in order to exchange the bodies of the dead and prisoners," the message says.

As reported, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan were invited to Russia on October 9 for consultations on Karabakh.

Earlier, Putin called the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh a tragedy.

The head of state called for a ceasefire, noting that Russia expects that in the very near future "this conflict will be ended."
