Most of the new cases were detected in the Helsinki and Uusimaa region (Capital Region), where the source of infection remained unknown in about 75% of cases.

From September 28 to October 4, 1,013 new cases were entered in the country's infectious disease register, up from 706 in the week of September 21 to 27.
