The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Umm Al Quwain Police, Colonel Saeed Obaid bin Aran, told "Emirates Today" that the department received video clips from a driver in which he observed a group of motorcyclists walking in the middle of Al Ittihad Street at the entrance to the emirate and making demonstration movements that pose a danger to Their safety and the safety of road users.
He explained that the location and timing of the incident were determined through the video clip, and it will be verified through the cameras installed on the road, and drivers in violation will be summoned to verify the incident, and a violation is issued against those who are not committed to traffic regulations.
He pointed out that the first article of the schedule of traffic offenses and fines will be applied, which stipulates that anyone who drove his vehicle in a way that endangers his life and the lives, safety or security of others, or drove a vehicle in a manner that would cause damage to public or private facilities, will be fined 2000 dirhams. And 23 traffic points, with the vehicle being kept for 60 days.
He added that the Traffic and Patrols Department will not be lenient in applying the law with those who are not committed to traffic and traffic laws and regulations, pointing out that the public’s cooperation is important to reduce the occurrence of dangerous traffic accidents, and to control road security by reporting any vehicles or motorcycles that carry out show movements that pose a danger to Road user safety.
The driver, Abu Muhammad, told Al-Emarat Al-Youm that he was accompanied by his family from the Hamriyah area of the Emirate of Sharjah towards Al-Salamah area in the Emirate of Umm Al-Quwain, the day before yesterday at 10:15 at night, where he was surprised by a group of motorcyclists making show movements in the middle of the road , By driving the stairs with one tire.
He explained that drivers caused traffic to confuse traffic, as drivers could not overtake motorbikes because they were traveling in the middle of the road, in addition to the unbalance of a motorcyclist while he was performing the exhibition movements as his bike almost veered from its lane and fell in the middle of the road had he not corrected the matter and controlled on the bike.
He added that his wife filmed video clips of drivers violating the side of maintaining the safety of road users and cooperating with police officers, as he was sent to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
