The Green Party and the Social Democrats have agreed on which proposals in the Migration Committee's final report should be submitted for consultation, but with certain additions.

One supplement is about granting a residence permit in the case of a special connection if there are particularly painful circumstances.

Another supplement is about unaccompanied minors who have managed to create a base in Sweden.

Maria Malmer Stenergard, Member of Parliament for the Moderates, is critical of today's statement, which she believes is "a betrayal of her own voters".

- What we have seen today is the Social Democrats' total collapse in the migration issue, says Maria Malmer Stenergard and continues:

- In addition, they want to give a large number of unaccompanied men the opportunity to stay here.

It is, of course, a betrayal of our own voters but also of all the people who suffer in exclusion from unsustainable immigration and the lack of integration policies for many years.

"Too high demands in the past"

Minister of Justice and Migration Morgan Johansson explains that the requirements for unaccompanied minors to stay in Sweden today are too high.

- I think there is an argument to say that we can ease that working conditions.

It is above all those who have arrived in 2015 who have an opportunity to enter the labor market, says Morgan Johansson.

According to Maria Malmer Stenergard, the most important thing for the Social Democrats is to remain in power and that the party is therefore prepared to compromise on its principles.

- It is possible that the Social Democrats and the Green Party can scrape together a narrow majority in the Riksdag, says Maria Malmer Stenergard.

But she also believes that the Social Democrats have a majority of the people against them.

- This means that the next election will be a referendum on immigration and security and we know what the Swedish people think.

"Does not stand out"

Morgan Johansson replies that with the new migration policy now means that Sweden does not stand out from other countries within the EU.

He also expects that there will be consultation comments.

- We must take that into account, of course.

But with this, we show that we can manage to solve quite difficult questions as well.

This is perhaps the most difficult issue in Swedish politics right now and we showed today that we are able to solve this issue, says Morgan Johansson.
