• Bad weather, rain and wind on the way, yellow alert on 13 regions

07 October 2020A girl died in Albanella, a municipality in the province of Salerno, after her car was overwhelmed by the water of a flood due to the wave of bad weather that hit the area.



The woman's body, which had been missing for a few hours, was recovered by fire watches outside the car. 



The girl, a 26-year-old originally from Stio Cilento (Salerno), lost her life following the flooding of the Malnome stream, in the municipality of Albanella. 



The young woman was in a car with another person when the watercourse, due to the abundant rainfall that affected the area in the late afternoon, invaded the roadway, overwhelming the car.

The other person on board managed to save himself, the young woman, however, was thrown out of the cockpit.

His body was found around 9.30 pm by the fire brigade in the Piano del Carpine hamlet. 



The civil protection had issued a yellow alert on parts of Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Tuscany, on the entire territory of Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia and Basilicata, on some sectors of Campania and Calabria.
