The Director of Al Raffa Police Station in Dubai, Brigadier Ahmed Thani bin Ghalita, stated that the center seized 269 violating bicycles and electric bicycles during a traffic campaign that lasted for a week in cooperation with Dubai Municipality.

He added that, based on the directives of the leadership to intensify traffic campaigns against bicycle users in violation of the Traffic and Traffic Law, which distort the general view of the emirate, the center formed a team headed by the head of the Traffic Registration Department at the center, Lt. Col. Muhammad Ahmad Ashkanani, to launch a campaign in cooperation with Dubai Municipality for a week to arrest violators The campaign resulted in the seizure of 239 bicycles and 30 electric bicycles in the specialized areas, indicating that the Karama area came first in the number of seizures, followed by the Souq Al Kabeer area, then Al Rolla Street, and finally the Al Mankhool area.

He emphasized that such campaigns contribute to avoiding run-over accidents, traffic accidents, and preserving lives and property, due to the illegal driving of bicycles and electric bicycles on the main and secondary roads, without wearing the phosphorescent reflector and helmet, indicating that some bicycle users connect them in the streets. Traffic at intersections, and some of them walk against the direction of traffic, and on the sidewalks, which causes traffic accidents.
