China News Service, Phnom Penh, October 7 (Reporter Ouyang Kaiyu) Although Cambodia's economy has been hit by the new crown epidemic, Prime Minister Hun Sen is still optimistic about the development trend of the national economy this year.

Hun Sen talked about national economic issues at the inauguration ceremony of a local resort hotel on the 7th.

Hun Sen said that earlier, some financial institutions had made very negative predictions about Cambodia's economic growth this year due to the new crown virus crisis, but the situation is different now.

Hun Sen said that some major international financial institutions, including the World Bank, are similar to Cambodia’s own institutions’ forecasts of Cambodia’s development goals for this year, and are more optimistic than before.

He also pointed out that there have been many positive signs in the Cambodian economy.

Hun Sen said that although some factories are still closed, some factories have already begun production transformation to meet new demands. On the other hand, Cambodia's agricultural productivity has also been greatly improved.

According to the Cambodian Ministry of Information, citing a World Bank report, Cambodia has a good prospect in the current bilateral trade negotiations between Cambodia and China and Cambodia and South Korea, which will bring economic dividends to Cambodia.

This report observes that Cambodia’s domestic economic activities have gradually returned to normal, and various demands including domestic travel are increasing.
